Skin tags are loosely hanging lumps of skin usually found along parts of the body with skin creases.
Example would be the neck, the eyes, breasts, and along the armpits. They can be quite irritating although skin tags are typically benign, containing collagen and blood vessels.
Although they don’t pose any threat to a person’s health, skin tags can be unsightly. Fortunately, removing them is not a problem. Here are some tips on how to remove skin tags at home naturally:
Use Tea Tree Oil
One of the most used natural products when it comes to skin tag removal, tea tree oil works magnificently and doesn’t harm the skin.
To use this, wash the skin tag area with soap and pat it dry. Apply pure tea tree oil in cotton and just leave it on the tag, securely attaching it with bandage.
The tea tree oil should dry out the skin tag so that it will fall off after a few days. Change the cotton dressing three times a day. [source]
Juice up some garlic and use the freshly squeezed liquid as your main ingredient to remove skin tags.
Soak cotton in it and just leave it on the affected area overnight. In the morning, clean the tag and repeat the process until the problem goes away.
This should take less than a week if you’re diligent with the application. [source]
Use Apple Cider Vinegar
Apple cider vinegar is also an excellent method that’s both natural and 100% effective.
To use this, just clean the area of the tag, soak cotton in some apple cider vinegar and place it on the extra skin. Tape it there with a band-aid and leave overnight.
Remove the tape in the morning and repeat the process until the skin tag changes color and fall off harmlessly. [source]
Use a Nail Cutter
Skin tags aren’t terribly painful to remove although slicing them off can cause slight discomfort.
Still, if you think you can take the pain then try cutting them off with a nail cutter or any very sharp instrument.
Use alcohol to clean off the area and the nail cutter first before snipping off the tag in one clean snip.
Once you’ve done this, dab the area again with alcohol – this will sting. Allow the area to heal naturally. [source]
Use Castor Oil
Castor oil also works well for skin tags, drying up the skin so that it will fall off after a few days.
Typically, the oil is combined with baking soda to create a thick paste that can be coated directly on to the skin tag.
Just do this several times a day and before going to sleep so that the mixture can work its magic. Pretty soon, the castor oil should be able to completely kill off the skin tag. [source]
Lemon juice contains citric acids which has a wonderful way of drying up the skin and therefore killing off an unnecessary growth.
Simple enough to use, just squeeze fresh lemon juice onto a bottle and soak cotton with it. Rub the cotton routinely on the skin tag until it dries off and falls out of its own.
This might take a few days so be patient! [source]
Use Dental Floss
The dental floss technique is also promising although there are lots of rooms for errors.
To make this work, just use a piece of dental floss to tie a knot at the base of the skin tag where it meets the rest of the skin.
What this does is cut off the blood supply to the skin tag, essentially “killing” it off.
Note though that there are several factors to consider:
(1) The dental floss must be clean
(2) The knot must be tight enough to cut blood flow… but
(3) It must not be too tight to cause skin irritation.
The good news is that this method is wonderfully effective and can kill off the skin tag in a matter of days. [source]
Of course, those are just few of the home remedies you can use for skin tags. Other choices you have include: onions, banana peel, ginger, even pineapple juice!
